General Rules:
The
speed limit in the pits is 10 MPH.
No burnouts in the pits.
Anyone
riding a pit vehicle (ATV, 4-wheeler, golf-cart,
moped, bicycles, etc) must have a valid driver’s
license. Parents, please keep the kids off the
vehicle in the pits. Pit vehicles are allowed for
the purpose of supporting the racing team. Any
vehicle judged to be operating in an unsafe manner
by track officials is eligible to have their team
disqualified for the day the offense.
No
glass bottles or containers of any kind allowed in
the pits.
NO
alcohol is permitted in the staging lane.
Any driver
while in competition CANNOT consume alcohol. Any
driver that violates this rule will be disqualified
for the race and forfeit all monies/points that were
earned on that day. If you are drinking and
driving you will be suspended from the track for 30
days, for the first offense if caught 2nd
time it will be for the remainder of the
season.. This rule will be strictly enforced.
Misconduct-
Profanity, recklessness, fighting etc will not be
tolerated. This is a family oriented track and we
would like to keep it that way. Any violations of
these rules are grounds for immediate
disqualification and removal from the grounds. No
monies will be refunded for the event in which the
infractions occurred.
DRIVERS ARE
RESPONSIBLE for the behavior of their crewmembers as
well as themselves. If your crewmember is drinking
in the staging lanes he will be asked to leave the
staging lanes or get rid of the alcohol., if he DOES
NOT this will cost the drives his points, money and
he will be ban from the track for 30 days. Any
driver deemed by the track officials to be operating
their vehicle in an unsafe or reckless manner, will
be disqualified on the day of the event. Repeat
offenders may result in a permanent ban from the
track.
Track
Procedures:
DIAL
INS - Cars are required to display dial-ins on
the right side of the windshield and the right side
window. Competition numbers must also be displayed
in the same fashion. Colonial Beach point members
must also have their competition number displayed on
the left side of their vehicle. If you do not have
windows, you may use some other part of the vehicle
like the scoop or a dial-in display on the right
side of your car, which can be visible to the tower
while in the burnout box. Dial-ins must be
displayed to the hundredth of a second (including
zeros) before you cross the head of the staging
lanes. The only exception to this is after a track
clean up or long delay, the pair in the waterbox may
change their dial by first notifying a track
official. It is the driver’s responsibility to
verify that your dial-in is correct on the dial-in
boards and the scoreboard down the track. If you
find that your dial in is incorrect, DO NOT STAGE
your car until you notify an official and it is
corrected. Once a driver stages their vehicle for
competition, they have accepted the dial-in
displayed on the scoreboard. ABSOLUTELY NO RE-RUNS
for wrong dial-ins, even if your opponent agrees.
STAGING
LANES – All odd number lanes (1,3 & 5) are for
competion in the right lane. All even numbered
lanes (2,4 & 6) are for competition in the left
lane. Once you have selected a lane to run in and
crossed the entrance to the staging lanes, you are
committed to run that lane. There will be NO lane
switching after this point. You cannot move in
front of or behind another racer for any reason.
Once the bye run is pulled, cars will be paired side
by side. If we run out of cars in one lane, then
they will be run front to back with the front car
having lane choice. Once you are paired and your
opponent breaks, you are given a broke-bye run.
**Absolutely no one under the age of 14 will be
allowed in this area** Do not come to the staging
lanes before your class has been called or your will
be asked to return to your pits.
BURNOUTS –
Burnouts can be performed by any car. Cars
with slicks must pull through the waterbox and then
performs their burnout. There will be no excessive
pulling through and backing up repeatedly in the
waterbox which results in excessive water being
pulled from the box to the tree. Crewmembers are
prohibited from holding onto a car while the car is
performing a burnout. Only vehicles without front
brakes (dragsters and altereds) and Pro Cars are
permitted to do a burnout across the starting line.
All racecars (including Pro-Cars) are allowed to
have ONE (1) crewmember with them from the waterbox
to the starting line. Any violations of this one
crew person rule can be disqualified from the race.
Drivers are responsible for the actions of their
crew.
STAGING -
When the first driver has fully staged and
the second driver has pre-staged, the second driver
has 15 seconds to fully stage or he/she will result
in a foul. If a driver has fully staged and then
backs out, they are disqualified. If both drivers
turn on their pre-stage and each refuses to take the
next step to fully stage then the starting line
official will motion both drivers to go in. Once
asked to move in, the drivers are given 15 seconds
to comply. The starting line official can red light
and disqualify both drivers if their request is not
complied with. If this is deemed an on-going
problem with any one driver, that driver may be
banned for the remainder of the season.
BYE-RUNS
– Bye runs are determined by six die. Each die
has a number on it. The dice are shaken in a
container and one die is rolled out to determine
lane first. (one die has #1 on it, one die has #2 on
it etc.) That die is placed back in container and
the same procedure is done again to determine which
car in the lane that was just picked. The first 6
cars are eligible for the bye. That car will be
pulled from the lanes as soon as there is an opening
and moved to the side of the head of staging. That
car will receive that bye run if there is an odd
number of cars in competition. That car can get
only one bye per event unless all cars remaining
have had a bye. Byes will be pulled every run
unless there are 8 cars or less in the lane or if
there is an odd number of cars. If you are the bye
car and you have to run the bye run you will get
Lane Choice there will be NO coin toss.
BYE BACKS
–Bye Backs will run By Back cars, the only way
they will not is if there is an odd number of cars
someone may have to run a 1st round
winner.
LANE CHOICE-We
will be flip flopping for lane choice when it gets
down to 8 cars or less so you will not know which
lane you are running if everyone is lined up in the
same lane.
DEEP STAGING
– If you choose to deep stage, you do so at your
own risk. Deep staging is not guaranteed. You
should be fully deep-staged before your opponent is
fully staged. You must write “DEEP” on the front
windshield and both side windows.
ROUND ROBIN
- You will return to your pits after each round
until you reach the third round. All third round
winners should report directly back to the staging
lanes. All winners after the third round should
follow the same procedure until the conclusion of
the race. Any variations from this due to excessive
cars still in competition will be announced from the
tower.
TRACK CREDIT
POLICY – If you break before first round a track
credit can be issued at the tower. The amount of
the credit will be the amount of the entry fee less
the cost of that event’s spectator fee and the
dollar that goes to the points fund.
ELECTRONICS
– Electronics are permitted in Top E.T. cars
only. Absolutely no electronics are permitted in
footbrake. “Electronics” include delay boxes, trans
brakes, two steps (unless manual transmission), air
or electric shifters, dual line locks, and throttle
stops etc. No throttle stops or down track stutters
will be allowed in Top. Use of throttle
controls/stops by Top E.T. cars is permitted for
starting line use as a RPM control device, however
they may not be used as a means to excessively
reduce ET down track. These starting line
controls are NOT allowed in modified. If you have
electronics but wish to run in the modified class
then delay boxes must be removed from the car, pill
removed from two steps, trans brake button cannot be
in a car or wires must be disconnected and exposed
near the button for other drivers to see clearly.
Any driver caught intentionally using an illegal
electronic device in Mod will be disqualified from
the event. If the driver is a Colonial Beach points
member, they will lose all points for the season on
the first infraction.
SAFETY
CLOTHING – All drivers must wear a fire jacket
during competition. Any vehicle traveling at 5.50
E. T or faster must have fire jacket and pants.
Helmets are required for all competitors. No shorts
are allowed in competition.
PROTESTING
– If you see a delay box or anything illegal in
a car, bring it to the attention of the track
personnel and it will be investigated immediately.
If you would like an official protest then you can
pay a protest fee of $100 to the track
director/owner. You would take the fee to the
director/owner and give the drivers name and what
specific device you are protesting and why. This
information will be kept confidential until the
protested racer is finished competing. At that
time, the director/owner will stop the car on the
return lane and move them to an area of the
director/owners discretion and inspect the vehicle
for the protested device. If it is deemed the racer
does not have the device, the 100.00 fee will be
given to that protested racer. If it is deemed that
the racer does have the illegal device then they
protester will have the fee refunded to them.
Furthermore, the driver that violated the rules will
be banned for the remainder of the year and lose all
season points.
